Sanderson Sister Smoothie Bowl

A festive treat for the girl who’s trying not to look like a pumpkin.

I start a food experiment tomorrow called Whole30 which is apparently really beneficial but it’s suuuch a bummer to start amidst the baked goods and candy treats that are so popular this time of year. No sugar, booze, dairy, grains, or legumes for me…for a whole 30 days! I was initially really sad thinking that I wouldn’t be able to make festive treats anymore, but then I realized how limited that was. And I like a challenge, any way! So I thought up a super healthy really simple smoothie bowl inspired by, you guessed it, the famous Sanderson sisters from Hocus Pocus.

The base is simply coconut milk, half of a banana, and a Pitaya Plus packet. It’s a pink/purple color and works as an excellent & colorful base for all of the reds, yellows, purples, and greens that are so reminiscent of the Sanderson outfits. Keeping these colors in mind I gathered some fruit and arranged it on top of the bowl…pretty haphazardly to be honest. Pick whatever ya like, the sky is the limit. 😉

By the way… When I was in the grocery store I walked past this wreath of preserved oak leaves in the Hocus Pocus colors, and I about lost my mind. It rocks and I have no regrets about it. It looks (and smells) SO GOOD.

Now back to crying about all the pumpkin spice lattes I won’t be enjoying for the rest of October. Cool.
